CHICAGO – Provisur Technologies Inc. announced Aug. 7 that it has acquired Hoegger AG, a privately-held provider of form pressing, separation and cook and chill equipment, based in Flawil, Switzerland.
“Founded in 1976, Hoegger has a long tradition of innovative product design and a strong commitment to quality and reliability,” said Mel Cohen, Provisur’s president and CEO. “Those qualities make them a perfect fit for Provisur as we continue to expand our portfolio of technologies and provide our worldwide customers with a more complete and integrated array of solutions.”
Hoegger is known for its meat press technology. The acquisition expands Provisur’s global footprint by adding sales, service and production capacity in Europe.
“The acquisition of Hoegger not only significantly strengthens our position in the slicing and portioning markets, but also complements our existing separation business and expands our cooking portfolio to include industrial sous vide cooking and pasteurization technologies,” Cohen said.
Hoegger AG CEO Stefan Koller added, “We believe that the combined capabilities of Provisur and Hoegger will be the catalyst for continued product and technology development, while also providing our combined customers with broader and more integrated technical solutions to their processing needs.”
