CHICAGO – During a week with almost daily corporate announcements featuring test marketing of new breakfast products and plans to modernize more of its restaurants, McDonald’s Corp. on Aug. 15 teased its new chicken tender item that will be available on menus of participating restaurants next week. The newest limited-time addition is its Sweet N’ Spicy Honey BBQ Glazed Tenders, to appease what the company says is growing demand for more varieties of chicken offerings and new flavor profiles. The new item supplements McDonald’s other poultry-based menu additions during the past 18 months or so, including the Classic Chicken Sandwich, which debuted in January and its Buttermilk Crispy Tenders in 2016.
In fact, the newest item is made with its white meat-base Buttermilk Crispy Tenders that are tossed and glazed in the barbecue glaze, which includes a mixture of chili pepper, garlic powder and paprika. Orders of 4-piece, 6-piece and 10-piece servings are available for a limited time, according to the company.
