SILVER SPRING, Md. — Warren, Michigan-based Lipari Foods LLC issued a voluntary recall of Premo Brand turkey and cheese wedge sandwiches on Aug. 21 due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination, the US Food and Drug Administration reported.
The sandwiches were produced and packaged by JLM on Aug. 8, 2018, and distributed to foodservice and retail locations in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Wisconsin and West Virginia. The company began shipping the product on Aug. 9.
Lipari Foods said that JLM brought attention to the possible Listeria contamination after additional testing was initiated by the FDA. This followed a previous recall which returned positive test results for Listeria.
