ROSEMONT, Ill. – Broadline foodservice distributor US Foods opened a new Chef’Store wholesale food and restaurant supply store in Charleston, South Carolina, after Hurricane Florence temporarily delayed the store’s launch.
The new 50,000-sq.-ft. facility offers culinary professionals in the area more than 5,000 food products, including fresh meat, seafood and produce, in addition to restaurant-grade equipment and other supplies. The store also contains a 3,000-sq.-ft. test kitchen area where foodservice operators can sample products, learn about trends in food and menu concepts and consult with culinary experts from US Foods.
“Chef’Store offers local restaurant operators and culinary professionals a new, easy-to-navigate and convenient way to shop,” said Josh Waters, US Foods vice president, Chef’Store. “With Chef’Store, we’ve developed a shopping experience specifically designed for food industry professionals to quickly and conveniently replenish ingredients at wholesale prices and walk out with innovative, on-trend menu inspiration.”
The Charleston Chef’Store is the third location to open in the Carolinas, according to US Foods, with stores in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Columbia, South Carolina. Other locations include Oklahoma City, Tempe, Arizona, and Dallas. No membership is required, and the stores are open to the public.
