NORTHGLENN, Colo. – Niman Ranch, a subsidiary of Perdue Farms, announced its partnership with California company West Coast Prime Meats which will add prime beef to its distribution channels.
West Coast Prime Meats supplies products to restaurants, hotels, resorts and country clubs in California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii.
“With more demand for responsibly sourced products, we are thrilled to add Niman Ranch to our roster. We’ve already learned so much from their network of farmers and ranchers,” said Nathan Bennett, president and chief financial officer of West Coast Prime Meats LLC.
West Coast started in 2001 as the Claim Jumper Restaurant Chain and then incorporated into the current name in 2010. The company focuses on understanding chefs and the custom products, cuts, trims and blends along with special packaging needed for foodservice.
“West Coast Prime came to us with a genuine interest in the high standards and protocols our farmers and ranchers adhere to while producing the finest tasting meat with no antibiotics or hormones ever. That says a lot about our shared commitment to lead the industry,” said Kay Cornelius, vice president of food service and retail. “We are committed to servicing the best restaurants and chefs with sustainable and humane beef, pork and lamb that in turn support our network of independent family farmers and ranchers.”
Niman Ranch meat is third-party-certified under the Certified Humane program. All products are sustainably raised without the use of antibiotics or hormones. Niman Ranch meat is raised by a community of more than 720 small, independent US family farmers.
