MCLEAN, Va. – As a next step in the development of its network-based infrastructure, the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) announced the expansion of its board of directors to include representatives of a recently added council.
After announcing the addition of the Pet Food Council to its existing five councils earlier this year, FPSA’s executive committee and the current board of directors approved the addition of three members to its board during its board meeting in mid-November. Tom Hoffman (MEPACO Inc.) and Patrick McGady (Handtmann Inc.) who were elected as chairman and vice chairman respectively of the new Pet Food Council, were appointed to the FPSA board as was Matt Malott, president and CEO of Multivac Inc., who was appointed assistant treasurer of the FPSA Executive Committee.
The formation of the new council reflects the association’s focus on its members’ business opportunities and is an industry segment that is rapidly gaining momentum, according to Jarrod McCarroll, FPSA chairman and president of Weber Inc.
“The creation of the Pet Food Council this year has created an enormous amount of energy within the membership and we look forward to the programs that it will develop in the near future,” said McCarroll. “Tom and Patrick’s leadership will help take this already greatly engaged council to a higher level.”
The addition of Malott to the executive committee will also benefit members, McCarroll said. “This committee is responsible for developing the strategy of the association and by adding one of the leading suppliers to the food and beverage industry, FPSA benefits greatly from Matt's experience, insights, and market perspective.”
