WASHINGTON – About 20,373 lbs. of ready-to-eat (RTE) beef patties produced at an AdvancePierre Foods Inc. plant in Enid, Oklahoma were recalled after the company, a subsidiary of Tyson Foods Inc., received customer complaints about products containing soft purple plastic material.
The issue was discovered April 1 and included the company’s frozen, RTE flame broiled patties that were produced Nov. 30, 2018 and shipped to foodservice customers nationwide, according to the US Dept. of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. No injuries or illnesses have been reported as a result of the foreign material contamination.
Shipments of 14.06 lb. boxes containing three, 30-patty portions are included in the recall and are labeled: CN FULLY COOKED FLAMEBROILED BEEF PATTIES CARAMEL COLOR ADDED” with case code 155-525-0 and package code 8334. The products bear the establishment number “EST. 2260E” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
