WASHINGTON – On Nov. 30, frozen-food stocks in refrigerated warehouses were greater than year-earlier levels for chicken, eggs, cheese and beef, according to the US Department of Agriculture.

Total red-meat supplies in freezers were up 2% from the previous month but down slightly from last year. Frozen pork supplies were down 3% from both the previous month and last year. Stocks of pork bellies were up 62% from last month but down 16% from last year.


Total frozen poultry supplies on Nov. 30 were down 18% from the previous month but up 4% from a year ago. Total stocks of chicken were up 4% from the previous month and up 16% from last year.

Total pounds of turkey in freezers were down 57% from last month and down 28% from Nov. 30, 2009.
