NEW YORK — Chef’s Cut Real Jerky Co. announced on May 20 that it will be launching a biltong product to compete in the US market. The company said the new item will feature no sugar and have 26 grams of protein per bag. Original and Spicy Chili flavors will be available to consumers.
Biltong is a form of dried, cured meat that originated in Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
“American consumers continue to seek out high protein snacks, and more than ever they are looking to reduce their sugar consumption,” said Bart Adlam, CEO of Chef’s Cut’s. “With zero sugar, our biltong will bring new consumers to the meat snacks category, including those looking for keto and paleo friendly offerings. We're confident that we've produced the best-tasting and most authentic biltong to the US market yet."
The original Chef's Cut Real Jerky is available in steak, chicken, pork and turkey varieties, is nitrate-free and gluten-free.
