The positions will primarily be on the chicken processing line, but there will also be a limited number of leadership positions available, with openings on both the 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. day shift and the new 3:45 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. night shift. Night shift workers will be paid 50 cents per hour more than their day-shift counterparts. All new positions are expected to be long-term, permanent additions to the work force. Gold’n Plump expects to have all the positions filled in about six to eight weeks.
The Luverne facility is a testing ground for Gold’n Plump’s new products and processes. Most of the new production will likely revolve around the company’s Just Bare brand.
