BISMARCK, N.D. – A new beef plant being planned by Korean investors and North Dakota cattle ranchers could process about 1,200 animals each day once completed, according to The Associated Press. The Kim and Price Corp. plant would export approximately 60% of its beef to South Korea and sell the rest in the US.

North Dakota Beef Exports has accepted letters of intent for about 450,000 animals from North Dakota and surrounding states, said spokesman Roger Hoyum.

Several building sites are currently under consideration by developers, including in the Bismarck-Mandan and Jamestown areas. The plant, which is targeted to be operating by early 2012, will employ approximately 500 workers.
