CHICAGO — Ken Komejan has been named vice president of food service for Greenleaf Foods, SPC, a plant-based food company owned by Maple Leaf Foods Inc.
In this new role, he will lead the North American food service business for Greenleaf’s Field Roast Grain Meat Co. and Lightlife Foods, Inc. brands. He will be tasked with “defining a strategic vision to accelerate growth and market leadership in the plant-based protein market,” the company said.
“Under Komejan’s leadership, Greenleaf Foods will solidify its commitment to the fast-growing food service channel and expand its position in the highly-competitive demand space with Lightlife and Field Roast,” Greenleaf said.
Komejan was most recently general manager of food service for Mars Inc. During his 14 years with Mars, he was also the national food service sales director for the company. Earlier in his career, Komejan was region manager for Diamond Crystal Brands and a marketing sales representative for Hospital Purchasing Service.
“The addition of Ken to the Greenleaf team solidifies our commitment to serving food service customers with great-tasting plant-based protein products that consumers desire,” said Adam Grogan, chief operating officer of Greenleaf Foods. “His experience and long-standing relationships with leading food service customers will be invaluable to Greenleaf as we focus squarely on our growth.”
Komejan is the second executive to join Greenleaf Foods since its inception in October 2018. In August, the company hired Adam Grogran as chief operating officer.
