OZARK, Ark. — A Tyson Foods truck carrying raw chicken caught fire on Interstate 40 westbound near Ozark, Arkansas, early on Sept. 27.
The Ozark Fire Department said on Facebook that the truck was moving 38,000 lbs. of chicken.
Tyson Foods released a statement on Friday afternoon updating the truck fire.
"We’re investigating what we believe was a mechanical failure that led to one of our trailers catching fire," A Tyson Foods spokesperson said. "There were no injuries and our driver safely removed the trailer from the road. We appreciate the response of emergency service personnel during this incident."
In a separate incident on Sept. 26, a Tyson employee was transported to a hospital following an industrial accident at its Tyson Mexican Original Plant in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
