REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Dan Greene was named senior vice president of US sales for Impossible Foods on Oct. 1.
Greene leads the company’s sales team as it starts to grow into more grocery stores. The Impossible Burger is currently served in 17,000 restaurants.
Previously, Greene worked as chief revenue officer for a conversational artificial intelligence startup and served as an executive consultant with other early-stage software companies. He also spent 11 years at Google and Twitter overseeing revenue-generating business units and overseeing large teams.
“Impossible Foods is the hottest startup in the world and it’s thrilling to join this company as it launches into retail and scales up production and capacity to become ubiquitous,” Greene said. “It’s also an incredible opportunity to not only build a great business, but have a profound impact on our world and our environment at the same time. Most importantly, I’m excited to meet and listen to our customers so I can understand how to better serve our clients and consumers.”
In July, Impossible Foods added manufacturing capacity to process the Impossible Burger by entering into a co-manufacturing agreement with OSI Industries.
Last week, the company announced all 100 Wegmans grocery stores in seven states and at two Manhattan locations of Fairway Market would carry the Impossible Burger. Impossible Foods also said it outsold ground beef at 27 Gelson’s Markets in its first week in Southern California.
