REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – DoorDash launched a feature in its mobile ordering app that lets users see all menu items that have Impossible Foods’ meat facsimiles as a menu item in one place.
The plant-based “carousel”, which features restaurants on the DoorDash platform that serve Impossible menu items — is a first for the company. However, Impossible products already are popular among DoorDash users — customer searches for “impossible burger” have increased threefold since January this year, according to DoorDash.
“DoorDash has been incredibly useful to our consumers looking for the latest and best Impossible dish in their town,” said Heather Huestis, vice president of marketing at Impossible Foods. “We are excited to be partnering to make this process even easier.”
To celebrate the DoorDash/Impossible Foods partnership, customers won’t be charged delivery fees for their first Impossible delivery. However other fees (including service fee), taxes, and gratuity still will apply.
The plant-based carousel service is available in select cities, including San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Miami, Detroit, Atlanta, Boston, Denver, Dallas, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Orlando, Houston, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Phoenix, Las Vegas, central Illinois, Washington, DC and Bellevue, Washington.
