After the 2019 edition of the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) was pushed back to mid-February due to Super Bowl LIII, the 2020 show will return to its regular dates in late-January. The three-day trade show will be held from Jan. 28-30, 2020, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Comprised of the three integrated tradeshows – International Poultry Expo, International Feed Expo and International Meat Expo – IPPE features the world’s largest annual gathering of industry leaders and the most comprehensive display of the latest technology, equipment, supplies and services used by meat, poultry and feed companies. IPPE is sponsored jointly by the American Feed Industry Association, North American Meat Institute (NAMI) and US Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY).
The 2020 IPPE is expected to bring together more than 1,300 exhibitors, 600,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space and more than 32,000 attendees in Atlanta.
The 2019 IPPE set four new records in attendance, number of exhibitors, size of show floor and the number of international attendees. There were 32,931 poultry, meat and feed industry leaders from all over the world in attendance last February. A total of 1,426 exhibitors showcased the latest technology on more than 600,732 sq. ft. of exhibit space. There were a record 8,315 international visitors from 133 countries at the Expo. Canada represented the largest group from a single country outside the US with 1,283 visitors.
“We are very pleased and excited with this year’s record-breaking exhibit space floor and attendance numbers. The turnout for the 2019 IPPE was outstanding, and the feedback from attendees has been extremely positive regarding time spent on the trade show floor, education sessions offered and networking opportunities. We expect next year’s IPPE to build on this success to ensure we continue to provide the best possible experience for attendees and exhibitors,” said a joint statement from the three organizations.
The education schedule for IPPE Week in Atlanta will feature dynamic programs addressing current industry issues. The annual lineup includes a number of specialty forums and conference which require additional registration including the International Poultry Scientific Forum, Latin American Poultry Summit, Pet Food Conference, the Environmental Conference for the Meat & Poultry Industry, Worker Safety Conference, Animal Agriculture Sustainability Summit and the International Rendering Symposium. There is also a full lineup during the show of free education sessions covering the subjects of food safety, animal welfare, consumer trends and international trade. Consult the full program of events (Page 10) for session descriptions and pricing information.
There are also a number of additional attendee activities, including TECHTalks, a hot wing competition, the Taste of IPPE and the annual Welcome Reception at the Georgia Aquarium after the first day of the trade show – Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m.
