CLAREMONT, N.H. – Officials with North Country Smokehouse announced the promotion of Aaron Corbett to the role of CEO. According to Vincent Breton, president of Quebec, Canada-based duBreton, which acquired North Country in 2016, Corbett will be focused on strategic planning and business development of both companies while leading the day-to-day operations of the 62,000-sq.-ft. in New Hampshire. Corbett has worked as chief operating officer at North Country since 2015, just prior to the company building a new facility for the vertically integrated processor that specializes in organic, animal welfare-certified smoked bacon and premium meat products.
“For decades, the company focused solely on foodservice,” Corbett said, adding that the company is growing its US retail distribution. North Country products are sold at Whole Foods Market, Hannaford’s Supermarket, Stop & Shop, Big Y, Market Basket and HEB stores.
“We’re committed to maintaining those partnerships but realize there’s a growing consumer demand for sustainable, smoked meats. Our relationship with duBreton gives us an advantage over other producers,” Corbett said.
