ROBARDS, KY. – Poultry processing operations at Tyson Foods Inc.’s plant in Henderson County were halted April 30 and the facility will remain closed through May 3 to allow for the plant to be cleaned and sanitized after an unconfirmed number of workers tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). Approximately 1,300 workers are employed at the plant.
As of the morning of April 29, Henderson County reported 65 confirmed cases of the virus and one related death. Henderson’s population is approximately 45,700. According to the state’s website, 4,539 positive cases have been confirmed in Kentucky and 235 deaths attributed to the virus.
