DECATUR, ALA. – Gemstone Foods LLC, a poultry processor based in Decatur, Ala., named Jeff L. Power as president and chief operating officer of the company effective immediately. Power previously worked at Gemstone which specializes in custom processing and portioning, de-boning, IQF and packaging for some of the largest fast food chains and poultry suppliers in the United States.

His professional history in the food and poultry industries spans more than 30 years. Power most recently worked at Fresh Food Group where he had oversight of all operations including 4,000 employees and 11 processing plants. He also held management positions at leading poultry processing companies including Pilgrim’s Pride, Tyson Foods, and Draper Valley Farms (a Perdue Farms Inc. company).

Power holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry with a minor in biology and psychology from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ark.
