SHERMAN, TEXAS – Officials with Tyson Foods Inc. confirmed the death of an employee at its plant in Sherman, Texas, the morning of Jan. 7.

“We’re investigating the tragic death of a team member at our Sherman, Texas, facility that occurred Thursday morning,” the company said in a statement. “We’re deeply saddened by the accident and extend our thoughts and prayers to the team member’s family, friends and co-workers.”

No other details about the incident were available from the company as of Jan. 10.

According to a local news report, a 54-year-old man was pinned against a loading dock by a tractor-trailer at the facility. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died later that day.
