In 2007, the company began its partnership with the U.S.O. when Wayne Farms’ Executive Research Chef Caroline Morris, a member of the Georgia A.C.F. Chapter, learned about a program called Operation Chefs Unite. The program pairs local U.S.O. chefs to cook for traveling troops. Since 2007, Wayne Farms has fed troops on seven occasions.
“Wayne Farms’ employees seem to have an exceptional sense of patriotic duty evidenced by the fact that we never have trouble finding volunteers to spend their holidays feeding the troops,” said Ms. Morris, who is also project leader for Wayne Farms LLC. “This has become one of our favorite causes. We are always ready and willing to step up and express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the continued efforts of our American soldiers.”
This year, Wayne Farms is planning to dish food to inbound and outbound troops traveling through Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson Airport on July 4th and Sept. 11th.
