MIAMI – Burger King announced plans to introduce a new chicken sandwich later this year. The company stated it will not accept a “burger-joint-quality” chicken sandwich and vowed to make the new offering as good as one available from chicken-centric QSRs.
“What if hand-breading were to chicken what flame-grilling is to burgers? That’s been our guiding filter to bring a delicious chicken sandwich to guests in a way only BK can,” said Ellie Doty, chief marketing officer, Burger King North America. “We’ll take the time to get it right and our guests will definitely taste the difference.”
Burger King has been working on its hand-breaded chicken sandwich since 2019 and testing it since September 2020. Stores will offer both original and spicy versions with a thick-cut white meat chicken breast that is freshly breaded by hand served on a potato bun with deli pickles, signature sauce, iceberg lettuce and tomato.
