WASHINGTON – Avanza Pasta LLC, based in Evanston, Ill., announced on March 20, the recall of approximately 2,237 lbs of ravioli and tortellini products containing meat and poultry that were made without federal inspection, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service. Agency officials discovered the issue during its surveillance activities.
The recalled products are not labeled with an inspection mark from the USDA or an establishment number. A list of the company’s recalled products is available here. They were produced between Oct. 5, 2019, and March 12, 2021, and were delivered to foodservice outlets, retail customers and distributors in Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin.
No adverse reactions or illnesses have been linked to the consumption of the products.
