WACO, TEXAS — Authorities in Waco, Texas, responded to a bomb threat at the Cargill Protein plant on June 7.
According to media reports, Cargill received a threatening call that was deemed credible by the Waco Police Department and McLennan County Sheriff's office. All employees were evacuated, and authorities searched the facility for three hours.
Cargill resumed operations at the Waco facility on June 8.
The company ended its fresh and frozen whole turkey production in September 2019, but still uses the plant for cooked meats and deli products.
