MIAMI – For the first time since 2012, Popeyes announced it will add chicken nuggets to its menu in Canada, the United States and Puerto Rico starting July 27. Popeyes based the new nuggets on the flavors of its popular chicken sandwich. The restaurants will prepare and serve the new battered and breaded items daily from open to close.
“Just like our game-changing Chicken Sandwich, our new Chicken Nuggets are unlike anything you may have experienced before,” said Sami Siddiqui, president, Popeyes Americas. “We aim to show the world once again the magic of Popeyes chicken with our new nuggets. We believe that these piece(s) of crunchy, juicy delicious chicken will have guests questioning how they ever enjoyed chicken nuggets before this.”
Popeyes will use a battering system and flour to provide the nuggets’ texture. Customers can customize flavor preferences of the white meat pieces by choosing sauces like Bayou Buffalo, BoldBQ, Blackened Ranch, Buttermilk Ranch, Wild Honey Mustard, and Sweet Heat. Participating Popeyes restaurants and third-party delivery services give customers options to purchase the new menu item, available in options ranging from 4- to 36-piece orders starting July 27.
“We have invested the time to perfect a product that leverages our classic techniques and Louisiana flavors that will change how people think about and experience chicken nuggets,” said Amy Alarcon, vice president of Culinary Innovation at Popeyes. “We think we did it again and now we can offer this famous recipe in pieces with the launch of Popeyes Nuggets.”
