BENSENVILLE, IL—Fortune International LLC, a processor of seafood, meats and gourmet products, branded as Fortune Fish & Gourmet, announced on Sept. 3 that it acquired Green Bay, Wis.-based Meat Processors Inc. (MPI). The companies did not disclose the terms of the transaction.
Fortune said that adding MPI will expand its distribution capabilities and reach in Wisconsin and Michigan. Meat Processors is currently run by owners Jim and Doug Farah.
“We are excited to have this opportunity to join an organization with strength and depth of Fortune,” Jim and Doug said in a statement. “This relationship will give our customers and employees greater selection and opportunities.”
According to Fortune executives, MPI’s processing and distribution facility in Green Bay will be enhanced with the conversion to Fortune’s state-of-the-art ERP, inventory management, and routing software.

MPI has been in business as a wholesale processor and distributor of meats and prepared foods since 1977. The operation currently offers beef, pork, seafood and poultry hand cut to order.
Fortune International has made several acquisitions over the last two years including Morey’s Seafood International of Missouri, Classic Provisions Inc., Jubilee Seafoods, Seattle Fish of Missouri, EuroGourmet and Neesvig’s.
