WASHINGTON – Chicago-based Evans Food Group is recalling approximately 10,359 lbs of pork pellet products that were not presented for import re-inspection into the United States, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Oct. 14.

FSIS discovered the problem during a routine FSIS surveillance activity of imported products.

The products were imported on Sept. 15, 2021, and further processed into pork rind and chicharrones items.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 6030” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Washington retail locations.  

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
