SAN ANGELO, TEXAS – On April 1, the San Angelo Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at the Lone Star Beef Processors plant.
Local authorities said a domestic dispute between two people left an unidentified 57-year-old man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and a 49-year-old woman in the hospital.
“It was learned that the male and female are both employees at Lone Star Beef and that they were in a dating relationship prior to this incident,” San Angelo Police said in a statement. “It was learned that a verbal altercation between the male and female occurred at this location, and it resulted in the male subject producing a firearm and shooting the female in the upper torso area near her left shoulder.”
Police said the man turned the firearm on himself after the altercation.
