ELIZABETHTOWN, PA. — During this year’s annual American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP) Convention in Des Moines, Iowa, the association named Darla Kiesel its new president.
Kiesel will replace current AAMP President Dwight Ely, of Ely Farm Products, Newton, Pa.
Kiesel is the co-owner of Dewig Meats, located in Haubstadt, Ind. She currently serves as AAMP treasurer.
On top of becoming AAMP’s second female president, Kiesel’s new title makes her a second-generation leader, following the footsteps of her father and former AAMP President Tom Dewig.
“I am so very honored to be the 51st president of this great association,” Kiesel said. “AAMP holds a very special place in my heart. I have been coming to AAMP conventions since I was a baby. I am very excited and blessed to give back to an association that has given so much to me and my family.”
