GREEN BAY, WI. – American Foods Group released more details on its $800 million beef processing and harvesting facility that will be in Warren County, Mo.
The company said that it plans to break ground on the 775,000-square-foot plant in September 2022.
AFG added that it would partner with industrial contractor Gray Construction to help design and build the project that is expected to process 2,400 cattle per day.
“We chose Gray because they are a family-owned relationship-driven company that shares similar values to American Foods Group,” said Jim Rathke, executive vice president of American Foods Group. “They brought the expertise we needed to engineer, design and now build our state-of-the-art beef harvest facility. In addition, they are partners that understand our environmental targets and sustainable focus.”
The project will include a harvest floor, carcass chillers, fabrication area, rendering, further processing area, storage coolers, freezers and loading docks.
AFG currently has operations in Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
