KANSAS CITY, MO. – Fareway Stores Inc. recently held a groundbreaking event for its third Kansas City metropolitan area retail space.
The new 8,700-square-foot facility will feature a full-service butcher counter and offer to-go barbecue meal options through McGonigle’s Kitchen and Catering.
Available meat items will include beef brisket, burnt ends, sausage rolls, pulled pork, brisket mac and cheese, steakhouse baked beans, along with other deli and meat items that will be offered daily.
“We are excited to expand in the Kansas City metro with the addition of a new meat market location,” said Garrett S. Piklapp president of Fareway. “Fareway is known for only the best in fresh, high-quality meat, with our full-service butcher counters and prepared foods, and this will be the ultimate destination for Northland area residents.”
The company said there will also be produce, dairy and other grocery store items.
Construction will begin immediately, with anticipated store completion in early spring 2023.
Fareway, based in Boone, Iowa, operates more than 130 grocery stores in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, and South Dakota. It previously went into the Kansas City market after purchasing McGonigle’s Food Store Inc.
