BOSTON — Pet treat company Polkadog officially launched its new sustainable pet treats for dogs and cats — Polkadog Pork Jerky — on Oct. 3.
The treats originally debuted at SuperZoo in August and were created in partnership with Walden Local Meat Co., a community-based, DTC meat share program and Certified B Corp.
Walden Local Meat Co. partners with local farmers and small farms throughout New England and New York to produce high quality, pasture-raised beef, chicken and pork products. Polkadog dehydrates pork sourced from Walden Local Meat Co. at its Boston Fish Pier Kitchen, creating a responsibly sourced single-ingredient treat.
“Polkadog’s commitment to all-natural, high-quality ingredients and local processing makes them a perfect partner for Walden Local Meat Co.,” said Mike Leahy, vice president of brand and marketing at Walden Local Meat Co. “We’re thrilled to be expanding on our partnership with this new launch. Working with Polkadog provides a great way to create top-quality treats and help respect the entire animal our partner farmers raise.”
The Polkadog Pork Jerky treats are now available for purchase at Polkadog.com and at Polkadog retail locations. The treats will also be available at Walden Local Meat Co.’s butcher shop in Boston and through its meat share program later this month.
