TUSCALOOSA, ALA. – Officials with Peco Foods confirmed the outcome of an investigation into a fatal incident that occurred on the morning of Nov. 14 at its truck shop in Pocahontas, Ark., resulting in the death of an employee. According to an initial local news report, the Randolph County sheriff’s office said the victim was 35-year-old Travis Redwine, who was thought to be doing work on a forklift at the facility before being pinned under it. Redwine was reportedly transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Peco Foods has since confirmed the investigation into the incident was complete.
“After concluding an external investigation in Pocahontas, Ark., authorities deemed the death at the Peco truck shop last week an accident,” Peco Foods said in a statement. “Our team is deeply saddened by this incident and is working with his family to provide for their current and future needs. Our thoughts, prayers and sympathies remain with his loved ones, as we continue to mourn the loss of a team member and friend.”
