IRVING, TEXAS — Darling Ingredients Inc. announced the retirement of Jos Vervoort, the executive vice president of the company’s collagen brand Rousselot, effective June 30, 2023. Darling said Jeroen Colpaert, Darling’s managing director of Rendering and Specialties, will succeed Vervoort, beginning Jan. 2, 2023.
Since 2017, Vervoort has served as executive vice president of Rousselot and has been with the company for more than 16 years in varying capacities.
"On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to thank Jos for his dedicated service and significant contributions to our company over the years," said Randall C. Stuewe, chairman and chief executive officer. "Jos has played a critical role in growing our collagen business and positioning Darling Ingredients' as a global leader in collagen-based solutions for the food, health & nutrition, bio-medical, and pharmaceutical sectors."
Vervoort’s successor, Colpaert, will report to Stuewe. Colpaert will be responsible for the Rousselot brand, consisting of 11 collagen facilities across the world, an expertise center in Ghent, Belgium, and sales offices in France, Japan and Malaysia.
Colpaert brings over 25 years of experience in operations, strategy and leadership. Joining Darling in 2014, he has overseen critical acquisitions and integrations in the Rendering and Specialties business line. Prior to Darling, Colpaert managed businesses at a predecessor of Linde Gas.
Colpaert earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Ghent, Belgium, and an international master's in business administration from Vlerick Business School in Ghent. He is fluent in Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish.
"Jeroen brings the perfect blend of operational excellence, sales and marketing experience and integration execution to this critical role," Stuewe said. "He brings a wealth of experience that is well suited to drive the future growth of our collagen business."
