SPRINGDALE, ARK. – As part of its commitment to become a preferred employer in the meat and poultry processing, industry officials with Tyson Foods Inc. announced on Dec. 15 plans to open a child care center in 2023. The new facility will be operated in partnership with Bright Horizons, a national childcare company with the capacity to care for more than 200 infants and preschool-aged children of Tyson’s workers. Tyson is expanding its global headquarters as it consolidates workers from facilities in two other states as part of its OneTyson initiative, which was announced in October 2022.
“Caring for our team members and their families has always been at the core of the Tyson culture,” said Jane Duke, project lead for the world headquarters expansion. “Childcare is a barrier we can address that will not only support our team members but solve a need so our employees can be successful at work and provide for their families. This childcare center and the new corporate campus are key initiatives as we strive to become the most sought-after place to work.”
Since 2021, the company has invested in childcare programs as a benefit for hourly employees at its new poultry plant in Humboldt, Tenn., and for workers at its Amarillo, Texas, beef plant as it endeavors to enhance recruitment and retention programs systemwide.
“These investments demonstrate the company’s latest commitment to continue building a culture that allows our team members and their families to grow and thrive,” Tyson said.
