DES MOINES, IOWA — To commemorate its 61st year in business, Kemin Industries is providing a combined $61,000 in donations to seven nonprofit organizations. The donations were made to organizations that operate in the same industries as Kemin’s five North American business segments — Crop Technologies, Animal Nutrition and Health, Food Technologies, Human Nutrition and Health, and Nutrisurance, the company’s pet food and rendering segment — and “share their dedication to making a difference,” Kemin stated.
"Our passion for protecting the health and safety of people, pets, production animals and plants goes beyond the ingredients we produce," said Chris Nelson, PhD, president and chief executive officer at Kemin Industries. "It extends to the places we call home, the people we call neighbors, and the global community we are all part of. Servant leadership has been a guiding force at Kemin since the beginning, and it remains at the heart of what we do. I'm proud to be supporting these organizations and their vital work for causes we share a deep connection to, and I'm immensely grateful for the Kemin team members who continue our commitment to community and others."
Organizations that received a portion of the $61,000 included:
- The National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition
- The National 4-H Council
- The National FFA Foundation and FFA Scholarship Foundations
- Share Our Strengths
- Easterseals Iowa
- The Animal Rescue League of Iowa
- The Humane Society of Southwest Missouri
