WASHINGTON — Garland, Texas-based Wild Cajun Meals LLC issued a recall of over 18,000 lbs of frozen jambalaya and gumbo products. The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said they were produced without the benefit of a federal inspection.
The following frozen and fully cooked items, which were produced beginning in September 2021, are subject to recall:
- 32-oz Plastic containers of “Lady Jambalaya Homemade Jambalaya.”
- 32-oz Plastic containers of “Lady Jambalaya Homemade Gumbo.”
Since the products did not receive a federal inspection, they lack the USDA mark of inspection. Wild Cajun Meals distributed the jambalaya and gumbo products to retail locations in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.
FSIS discovered the problem during a routine surveillance check, and the agency noticed products in the establishment that were not inspected by the USDA.
FSIS said there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions from product consumption.
