MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO — Maple Leaf Foods Inc. announced that Dennis Organ would be the next president of its pork complex.
The meat company said the appointment comes after making some recent senior leadership changes, including the current chief executive officer, Michael McCain, stepping back from his role to assume the executive chair position.
Organ brings more than 27 years of industry executive experience from the food industry. He worked for 11 years with Smithfield Foods, where he held various key roles, including chief operating officer and CEO. Organ stepped down from the CEO role in July 2021 for personal reasons.
“We are extremely pleased to have Dennis join our team. His deep knowledge and experience in the pork business, together with his strong leadership skills, make him the ideal person to lead our Pork Complex,” said Curtis Frank, president and COO for Maple Leaf Foods. “He is an incredibly talented leader who shares Maple Leaf Foods’ deeply held values and is committed to advancing our vision to be the most sustainable protein company on earth as we create shared value for all our stakeholders.”
Maple Leaf Foods’ Pork Complex supplies product to the company’s Prepared Meats business segment, providing fresh pork to customers and consumers in North America and internationally.
