PHILADELPHIA – Dietz & Watson, the 84-year-old manufacturer of premium sliced meat and cheese products, announced the launch of two new deli meat items, the Hot & Honey Chicken and its uncured Cherrywood Smoked Ham. The new fully cooked items are available as whole-muscle meats that are sourced from family-owned farms.
The sweet-and-heat flavor profile of the new chicken offering was created as an homage to Nashville’s iconic hot chicken. It is made from chicken breasts seasoned by tumbling the meat with spices and flavored with clover honey and cayenne pepper.
D&W’s Uncured Cherrywood Smoked Ham, which contains no added nitrates, nitrites or artificial ingredients, is cooked using cherrywood chips that produces a fruity, sweet flavor compared to more typical, applewood smoked ham. It also contains lower sugar and sodium than other products in the sliced deli meat category.
The company is planning to promote the new products with a multi-media marketing campaign, utilizing social media platforms, print and in-store advertising.
