MIAMI — On May 15, Burger King will begin offering a Whopper in co-promotion with Sony Pictures Animation’s “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.” The limited-time take on the brand’s Whopper sandwich was developed in celebration of the upcoming theatrical release of the next chapter in the hit film franchise that will release into theaters worldwide on June 2.
Participating restaurants nationwide will offer the Spider-Verse Whopper from May 15 through June 21. The sandwich features a red bun topped with black sesame seeds, drawing inspiration from the Spider-Man character, with swiss cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup, pickles and onions. The burger can also be customized.
The summer promotion also includes a Spider-Verse Sundae, which features soft-serve ice cream topped with black and red chocolate popping candy.

Starting May 11, the Spider-Verse will also take over select Burger King restaurant locations across the globe. Interactive designs will place guests and fans inside the action-packed Spider-Verse – including an in-dining room and drive-thru takeover and “Instagram-able” areas where guests can experience the Spider-Verse. The transformed restaurants will be in New York City (Astoria, Queens), France, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, and others.
