KANSAS CITY, MO. — Fresh takes on chicken sandwiches are joining menus at quick-service restaurant locations.
Chester’s Chicken is launching a reformulated version of its fried chicken sandwich, which includes a reformulated bun, chicken and sauce. The fried chicken is marinated and double-breaded, topped with Chester’s signature sauce and crinkle-cut dill pickles, all served on a Martin’s Famous potato roll.
“If you love fried chicken sandwiches, prepare to meet the new boss,” said Scott Richard, director of culinary innovation, Chester's Chicken. “We're constantly looking at ways to innovate and make our menu even better. We made all the right tweaks to perfect our new fried chicken sandwich and the taste is a knockout we know guests will crave.”
Burger King is testing a breakfast sandwich on menus in the Kansas City and Orlando-Daytona Beach markets for a limited-time. The new offering is the smoky maple chicken biscuit, which features breaded white meat chicken, with a smoky maple glaze, served on a buttermilk biscuit. The sandwich will join the menus alongside the regular chicken biscuit and the smoky maple chicken crossan’wich.
Jimmy John’s announced that wraps are joining menus once again, along with a new spicy wrap. Jimmy John’s is bringing back its chicken Caesar wrap and its Thai chicken wrap for summer and adding a jalapeño ranch chicken wrap, which features chicken, provolone cheese, jalapeño ranch, crispy jalapeños, and red pepper flakes all served in a flour wrap.
“At Jimmy John’s, we are known for our fresh, made-to-order sandwiches and are constantly innovating to bring our customers bold and unexpected sandwich experiences,” said Dustin Hilinski, director of culinary innovation at Jimmy John’s. “That’s why we have raised the bar this summer by offering three delicious wraps, each with unique flavor combinations, including the new jalapeño ranch chicken wrap, perfect for those who crave a little kick in each bite.”
