VERNON, Texas – Wright Brand Bacon, a product of Tyson Foods Inc., announced on July 18 that it would launch its Better Bacons contest.
The company plans to award up to $10,000 to contestants with the surname Bacon.
“Since we’ve mastered the art of crafting superb bacon, we wanted to extend our expertise to fellow Bacons,” said Lindsey Rice, brand manager for Wright Brand. “The Better Bacons contest is about paying it forward and delivering on improving the lives of those who have a special connection to bacon through their surname.”
Four applicants will receive money to improve their lives, whether it’s a home renovation, a vacation or updated clothes.
In order to start its nationwide search, Wright Brand found one Bacon in the Chicago area to award the funds.
To qualify, Wright Brand will ask people with the Bacon surname to submit a one-minute video or written entry sharing why they deserve the bacon prize.
Applications for the contest will be accepted through Aug. 21 at betterbacons.com.
