WASHINGTON — Newark, NJ-based distributor and importer of record, E B Express Provisions, is recalling over 600 lbs of pork and beef bean stew products, announced the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on July 26. The stew was imported from a Brazilian establishment that is not eligible to export meat products to the United States.
The following products are being recalled regardless of production dates:
- 430g cans containing “Anglo Feijoada Pronta para servir”.
- 430g cans containing “Bordon Feijoada PRONTO PARA SERVIR”.
The items bear the establishment number “76 S.I.F.” on the canned package. They were shipped to retail locations in Maryland, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
FSIS discovered the problem during a follow-up check for a previous recall for Panamerican Foods’ pork and beef bean stew. The agency identified that the stew products came from an establishment ineligible for meat exportation.
FSIS noted there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the products.
