CLINTON, IOWA — During the last week, Naeve Family Beef in Clinton, Iowa, announced that it would temporarily close its processing and packaging plant.
“We regret to inform you that our plant will be temporarily ceasing operations effective immediately,” the company said in a statement on Facebook. “Although we continue to work towards a solution to continue operations, we are unable to keep processing at this time.”
No other information was provided by Naeve on the reason for the closure.
Even with meat processing stopping temporarily, Naeve said it would maintain its retail location and keep its website open.
In June 2021, the company broke ground on a facility that would have the capacity to process up to 60 head of cattle per day.
The plant was federally inspected for USDA grading and received a BRC certification in December 2022.
Naeve Family Beef is a sixth-generation family business that was featured in MEAT+POULTRY in 2022, detailing its locally branded beef business.
