MARSHFIELD, WIS. — Meat snack manufacturer Wenzel’s Farm earned the Guinness World Records title for the longest meat snack stick, with a single, continuous, Wenzel’s Farm Snack Stick that stretched 314 feet long.
On Aug. 19, Wenzel’s Farm celebrated its 75th Anniversary and marked the occasion with the ambitious creation of a record-setting meat snack stick.
"Wenzel's farm has been providing quality meat products for 75 years, and setting the Guinness World Record for the longest meat snack stick was the perfect way to celebrate this amazing milestone," said Mark Vieth, president of Wenzel’s. "It has been an honor to be part of this community for the last 75 years, and we look forward to the next 75.”
In attempting to create the world’s longest meat snack stick, the company partnered with Devro, a manufacturer of collagen casings and films. Devro created a casing strong enough and long enough to make Wenzel’s vision a reality.
For the event, a Guinness World Records adjudicator was present to testify to the validity of the record. Additionally, Wenzel’s family, friends, the Marshfield, Wis., community and vendor partners gathered to witness the company’s feat.
Following the confirmation of the record, everyone present was invited to partake in sampling the 314-foot-long, naturally smoked snack stick.
“As a company we want to thank everyone who joined us in this celebration, helping us be a part of making history, and eating a piece of history,” Vieth said.
Since 1949, Wenzel’s has produced small batches of meat snacks using premium cuts of meat, seasoned and hard wood smoked. The company offers 14 snack stick varieties and five jerky flavors.
