STILLWATER, OKLA. — The Oklahoma State University Department of Agricultural Economics is holding the annual Rural Economic Outlook Conference on Oct. 11 at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater, Okla.

This year’s event is expected to draw in hundreds of producers, leaders in agriculture, educators and policy makers from across the nation to discuss the upcoming Farm Bill.

Informative sessions will give insight into policy, markets, finances and an ag outlook.

OSU noted that a couple special speakers include Bart Fischer, co-director of the Agricultural & Food Policy Center and research assistant professor at Texas A&M University, and Brian Bledsoe, chief meteorologist, KKTV 11 News in Colorado Springs.

“Two major factors that impact producers are farm policy and weather,” said Brent Ladd, assistant OSU Extension specialist for agricultural economics. “This conference will provide attendees with applicable information when planning for the future.”

The full agenda is available through the conference’s website.

Registration for the event before Oct. 4 costs $50. After the early-bird rate passes, registration will increase to $75.
