MIAMI — Popeyes officially added chicken wings as a permanent menu item nationwide. The new addition comes in five different flavors, including three new recipes making their debut on Popeyes’ menu.
“This is something my team has been working on for three years, and we took our time to get it right,” said Head Chef Amy Alarcon, vice president of culinary innovation at Popeyes. “Ghost Pepper has become a heavy hitter in our arsenal of products, and in marrying that with our Wings we knew we had something special. Now, we’ve found ways to add flavors on top for a variety of tastes our guests are sure to love. And with our Sweet ‘N Spicy Wings recently becoming the highest performing product since the Chicken Sandwich, we are beyond excited to unveil this full lineup.”
Popeyes wings will be offered at $5.99 for a six-piece pack, the company said.
All the wings are hand-battered and breaded for a crispy outside and marinated in distinct Popeyes spices to add flavor and juiciness.
Popeyes wings are available in the following flavors:
- Honey BBQ Wings: The tamarind, honey and molasses flavors on this sauce coat Popeyes signature breading on the wings.
- Roasted Garlic Parmesan: These wings pair the flavors of caramelized garlic and parmesan and asiago cheeses with Popeyes breading.
- Signature Hot: Tossed in Popeyes signature Cajun hot sauce with just a touch of southern sweetness, this flavor is for those who love the heat.
- Ghost Pepper Wings: Marinated in a dry spice blend before they’re hand breaded and fried to a crunch, these wings balance flavor and fire.
- Sweet ‘N Spicy Wings: Before they’re tossed in a sweet and spicy blend of chili, garlic and ginger, these wings are marinated, hand breaded and fried.
Popeyes first introduced the Ghost Pepper Wings in 2014 and has since been bringing the item back for limited times after popular demand.
In 2023, the fast-casual chain brought the Ghost Pepper Wings back for the first time in three years, and now they are a menu fixture.
