NEW YORK — New Zealand’s Silver Fern Farms, protein producer and red meat exporter to the United States for 40 years, appointed Dan Boulton as the new chief executive, effective in February.
For the past six years, Boulton has served as Silver Fern Farms’ chief supply chain officer. He brings experience in operations, procurement, executive management and commercial leadership. Boulton’s previous roles have been in seafood, horticulture and forestry.
Boulton will succeed Simon Limmer, who served as CE for the past five years. Limmer initiated Silver Fern Farms’ pioneering sustainability efforts across its co-operative farms and 14 processing plants. Limmer leaves Silver Fern Farms to join wine producer and exporter Indevin Group.
In 2022, Silver Fern Farms launched its Net Carbon Zero by Nature Angus beef range across the United States.
“Our Net Carbon Zero by Nature products are entirely aligned with consumer demand for sustainable products that offer taste and nutrition,” Boulton said.
Silver Fern Farms products are available in over 1,600 stores nationwide. The company’s last reported annual revenue was NZ$2.7 billion ($1.7 billion).
