CHICAGO — Fast Meat, the recently stolen Slim Jim’s car, was recovered on Dec. 22 in Hillside, Ill., confirmed a Conagra Brands spokesperson.
Conagra reported the car stolen on Dec. 13 while touring with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in an ongoing partnership. The custom Nissan Z was stolen in California after its most recent stop for a custom video shoot in Los Angeles.
Police found the Nissan Z inside a parked transportation trailer in Hillside. They alerted Conagra and noted that, while the custom exterior wrap on the car was partially removed, the rest of Fast Meat remains intact.
“We weren’t sure we’d ever see our car again and were thrilled to learn it had been found,” said Amy Morgan, director of brand content and communications at Conagra Brands.
Unsure of when Fast Meat would be recovered, Conagra had already begun working on a replacement. The company has been polling consumers across Slim Jim’s social media channels to vote on the features of the new car.
A custom shop in Hollywood created the original Fast Meat car, emblazoned with flames and branded with the Slim Jim logo. Other custom features on the original car included LED under carriage lighting, a Slim Jim holder for on-the-go snacking, a Slim Jim dispenser in the glove box stocked with meat sticks and some Easter eggs for the most loyal of fans, such as a custom, yellow fabric interior with the Long Boi Gang emblem.
