SALISBURY, MD. – Perdue Farms announced that a longtime truck driver for the company, Robert Timmons, reached four million accident-free driving miles with the company.

Timmons, who’s worked for Perdue for 44 years, was the second driver to achieve the milestone.

“I am so excited that I achieved four million miles of safe driving,” Timmons said. “I’m excited and proud that I was able to do this while working at Perdue.” Timmons goes by the handle Holly Trolly on the road.

Timmons works with nearly 800 certified professional drivers as part of the Perdue Farms supply chain.

The company stated that 184 Perdue drivers reached one million accident-free miles, 45 made it to two million accident-free miles, and 12 achieved three million accident-free miles.

Alvin Smith and Timmons are the company employees who made it to four million safe-mile drives.

“Our drivers are among our most visible brand ambassadors and have the most direct contact with our customers,” said Tim O’Hea, senior director of transportation for Perdue Farms. “Robert achieving four million safe driving miles in just 43 years is no small feat and is a testament to his dedication not only to Perdue but also to our customers and those he shares the roads with every day.”

During his time with Perdue, Timmons delivered dressed poultry from Salisbury, Md., to Lewiston, NC. He’s also driven live haul and oil and been an over-the-road driver as far west as Iowa.

Even though he’s delivered throughout the Perdue marketplace, Timmons currently drives local short-haul loads.

When he is not on the road, Timmons spends time with his children and grandchildren and enjoys carpentry. He is currently building an addition to his home in Salisbury.
